Language and culture

The topography and geographical location of Alamdanga Upazila has played a role in shaping the language and culture of Chitla Union since the past. Located near Sadar in Chuadanga Upazila, this union is surrounded by Chuadanga Sadar, Damurhuda Upazila and Meherpur Sadar Upazila. The main features of the language here are similar to those of other upazilas of Bangladesh, yet some variations can be found. For example, in spoken language, vowels are largely absent, that is, there is a tendency to simplify the language. The language here is very simple, the language of books. Experts believe that the dynamic nature of Mathabhanga river has greatly influenced the behavior, food habits, language, culture of the Union.
